René Heredia. Maestro Heredia has performed with the greatest flamenco artists of all time including Carlos Montoya, Carmen Amaya, Sabicas, José Greco, Paco de Lucia, and many others. He has been sharing his knowledge, technique and passion for authentic Spanish gypsy flamenco music and dance with his students for over 50 years.
He is a direct descendant of the Gitano flamenco puro (pure) tradition passed down to him through generations of La Familia Heredia‘s knowledge of the art form, and through the many talented friends of the family who shared their knowledge around the Heredia kitchen table.
As a performer, teacher, choreographer, mentor, and recording artist, René Heredia is credited with bringing flamenco to Colorado and has received numerous awards, including the Governor’s and Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts.

At Colorado Institute of Flamenco, we believe that flamenco should be enjoyed by everyone––even if you have little to no dance experience or minimal experience with guitar, or singing. Our school at CIF-Denver offers classes for adult, youth and family in flamenco dance, guitar, and cante. Both group and private instruction are available.
