Flamenco Scholarships
The Flamenco Fantasy Dance Theater, Inc. is pleased to announce the creation of two scholarships to support our mission to preserve and promote the art and culture of Spain, by teaching authentic flamenco styles to a new generation of performers.
Scholarships are awarded to students who would be unable otherwise to afford the costs associated with the study of Flamenco, and consist of tuition waivers for lessons and classes and a reimbursement for purchase of dance shoes, dance costumes and musical instruments.
The Candace Bevier Heredia Flamenco Dance Scholarship
The Candace Bevier Heredia Flamenco Dance Scholarship is named in honor of Candace Bevier Heredia, beloved wife of René Heredia, who was a vital part of the group and presence in the company for many years.
The Lawrence Phipps Flamenco Scholarship
The Lawrence Phipps Flamenco Scholarship is named in honor of René Heredia and Flamenco Fantasy Dance Theatre’s longtime friend and benefactor, Lawrence Phipps, whose efforts and support have been vital to our efforts to preserve and disseminate Flamenco.
The Flamenco Fantasy Dance Theatre is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the pure Spanish gypsy and Andalusian art of Flamenco. The scholarship furthers our mission by ensuring that deserving young artists who cannot otherwise afford the costs of study will have the opportunity to study this beautiful art form and pass it on to future generations.
