Flamenco Fantasy Dance Center is honored to bring Miguel Bernal to Denver for two flamenco dance classes on November 6 & 7.
Miguel will bring his years of flamenco technique to participants with a focus on learning castanets set to the fandangos compas. Additionally, he’ll share foot and arm techniques for the three basic parts of the traditional form of the Alegrias.
Students at every level will have the opportunity to improve their technique, learn new choreography and learn from one of the true masters of the art form.

Cost: $30 per class, $60 for both classes.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 7:00-8:30 pm
Castanets Class set to a Fandangos
Students will learn basic castanet technique including proper hand placement, articulation of the fingers and arm movements set to the Fandangos rhythm. Castanets are required.
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 7:00-8:30 pm
Alegrias Technique and Castanet Review
Students will spend the first 30 minutes of class reviewing castanet technique followed by arm and foot techniques for the three basic parts of the traditional form of the Alegrias. Students of all levels will learn choreography for one of the most beautiful and intricate dances in the flamenco repertoire.
Attend one or both classes. All levels welcome, please bring castanets.
All classes will be accompanied by Maestro René Heredia on guitar.
Miguel will perform with René Heredia and the Flamenco Fantasy Dance Theatre on Saturday, November 9 at Su Teatro Cultural & Performing Arts Center. Class participants receive discount student ticket prices for this very special performance. Tickets available at Una Noche de Flamenco.

Need to buy castanets? Ebay or Amazon have good deals on student or semi-professional castanets. Look for wood or resin, avoid plastic or “souvenir” castanets that don’t produce a good sound. For a good overview of what to look for go to castanets.
Miguel Bernal
Miguel Bernal began his professional dance career in Los Angeles, originally performing with his sisters as the Los Hermanos Bernal dancers. During his career, Miguel has performed with many Latin and Hollywood celebrities, including Maria Victoria, Tito Guizar, Tony Curtis and Ricardo Montalban.
Miguel studied with many celebrated dance teachers both in Los Angeles and Madrid. Dance luminaries/icons like Carmelita Maracci, Inesita, Lola Montes, Rosario and Antonio Faico, Eloy Pericet, Jose Greco, Nana Lorca and his mentor, Spanish dance legend Pilar Lopez.
He has been called, “A serious and profound dancer” by Spanish Dance Legend, Jose Greco and the LA Weekly wrote, “Who could not be entranced by the passionate dancing of Miguel Bernal.” Actor, Hal Holbrook and Actress Dixie Carter commented, “Miguel Bernal’s flamenco appearance is one of the most stunning theatrical evenings we have had-elegant, passionate, and exciting.
