About Maestro Heredia
With roots is Granada, Spain, his father, a pure Spanish Gypsy, taught his impressionable young son the intricacies and elegance of this rich form of musical expression. The Maestro went on to command performances for President Gerald Ford, President Jimmy Carter, Princess Grace Kelly and Prince Rainer of Monaco, Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia and Queen Noor of Jordan, and even The Ed Sullivan show. René has performed in venues from Carnegie Hall in New York, the Westminster Theater in London, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles and beyond.
René Heredia has performed with the greatest flamenco artists of his time including Carlos Montoya, Carmen Amaya, Sabicas, José Greco, Paco de Lucia, and many others.
As a performer, teacher, choreographer, mentor, and recording artist, Maestro Heredia is credited with bringing flamenco to Colorado and has received numerous awards, including the Governor’s and Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts.
